Current Need- Citrix Technical Engineer
The EIS organization is seeking a Citrix Technical Support Engineer to sit onsite at a designated client site. This position will function as an integral part of the IT team and will focus on enterprise systems (specifically related to) Citrix environment and overall maintenance of those applications. The Citrix Engineer acts as a technical resource within the hospitals organization for maintaining the Citrix environment. Major responsibilities for the role will include being an active participant in all hospital application on-boarding efforts and installation of new application environments.
This position will participate in an on-call schedule and will require some work on nights, weekends and/or holidays.

Position Description
Provide and coordinate technical support for new and existing software/programs. Works closely with Network/Server Engineers and Product Support Specialists to design, implement, maintain, and support solutions to meet the needs of the customer. Manages assigned workload using the McKesson Managed Services Service Desk System. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of infrastructure, workflow and data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Reports project activity, requests document progress, resolution and time spent on all customer activity in the appropriate tracking system(s) and for work and status (verbally and in writing) to management
Troubleshoots computer equipment issues, both hardware and software, identifies problems, develops constructive solutions and recommends specific actions
Completes technical tasks associated with the project, software loads, technical support of internal customer, technical education of internal services staff, development of the modifications and assists with planning resolution.
Installs and sets up application environments for new Citrix systems, prepare system for productive
Collaborates effectively with on-site co-workers as well as all other McKesson team members daily to maintain a positive work environment.
Coordinates the scheduling, delivery, testing, and implementation steps associated with software fixes, enhancements, routine maintenance, upgrades and/or customization with assigned customers in assigned product area of expertise.
Supports customers (internal and/or external) in the use of computer equipment and related software, as well as, various technical implementation processes
Recommends modifications to work flow procedures to solve problems
Is responsible for documenting best practices and standards for Citrix configurations in the hospital.
Create user documentation and training materials and/or conduct training sessions as needed
Assists with the implementation/integration of equipment modifications, including projects, vendors, and third party contractors
Develops a plan to complete technical tasks for the application implementation including establishing milestones, assessing resource needs and business implications.
May be assigned tasks which require work outside of typical production hours. May be assigned a variety of other tasks as needed to meet the needs of McKesson and the Customer.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
6
years experience providing technical support to product support teams, field engineers and technicians.
Critical Skills
Experience and strong experience with Citrix, XenDesktop, XenApp
Netscaler technology experience
Exposure to supporting Citrix Thin Client strongly preferred
Experience in or exposure to providing VMware technical support to enterprise customers or software customers
Experience with operation and administration of large Windows Server and Desktop Environments
Experience with enterprise applications, networking infrastructure, server operating systems, virtualization, data storage, database structures, data reporting tools, data analysis as well as requirements gathering preferably in a hospital or healthcare environment
Experience creating user documentation and training materials as well as training experience with users
Working knowledge of Microsoft (Windows Server Families 2008, Windows Desktop 7Project management experience)

Education
Bachelors degree -OR- equivalent experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting software and/or customer service on computer systems.
